Russia to Decide Within Hours to Send New Humanitarian Convoy to East Ukraine: Minister

MOSCOW, November 6 (RIA Novosti) – The decision to send an additional Russian humanitarian convoy to eastern Ukraine may be made within the next few hours, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said Thursday.

"We are constantly working on this, and the next convoy will go as soon as we complete all of the agreement procedures, and we're talking hours," Puchkov told reporters.

Since August, Russia has sent six aid convoys to eastern Ukraine, which has been suffering from a humanitarian crisis since Kiev launched a military operation against the region's independence supporters in April.

The convoys have delivered food, water, power generators and medicine, as well as warm clothes and winter supplies to help the residents of the conflict-torn regions replenish their stocks ahead of the coming winter.

The last Russian humanitarian convoy, consisting of 20 trucks, delivered more than 100 tons of aid to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Tuesday and returned to Russia the same day.
