Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia hopes to resolve all issues related to the use of UAV by the OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine.

MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) — Russia hopes that all issues related to the use of drones by the OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine will be resolved in the near future, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

'We hope that all the issues will be resolved in the near future and information passed to the OSCE from the drones will contribute to objective monitoring and will help ensure that both sides of the conflict observe the ceasefire and that a strong peace is established in southeastern Ukraine," deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s press service said.

According to the official, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is currently discussing the use of Russian drones and unmanned aerial vehicles of other countries by the OSCE monitoring mission in southeastern Ukraine with military experts.

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine was deployed in March following a request to the OSCE by the Ukrainian government. The monitors are to contribute to reducing tensions and fostering peace, stability and security in Ukraine and on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

In September, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko officially authorized the OSCE mission to deploy drones to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire that was agreed by independence supporters and Kiev during the Contact Group meeting in Minsk on September 5.

The first two UAVs arrived in Ukraine on October 6. The first flight of OSCE drones was completed on October 23.
