    A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported Sunday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The quake occurred at the depth of 62.8 kilometers (39 miles) in the vicinity of the Tandag city in the northern part of Mindanao at 9:19 a.m. local time (01:19 GMT), the USGS said.

    No information on casualties or damage from the tremor has been reported at the moment.
