An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale occurred off the Dominica coast on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The earthquake occurred at 22:08 GMT on Tuesday at a depth of 143 kilometers (about 89 miles), 14 kilometers (about 8,7 miles) west of Pointe Michel, a town on the southwest coast of Caribbean island Dominica, according to the USGS.

No information on casualties or damage from the quake has been provided yet.
