The month of July broke high temperature records becoming the fifteenth consecutive hottest month on Earth, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in a press release on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — NOAA scientific studies revealed that global warming has continued to affect countries worldwide. This year, North America experienced its fifth warmest July while Africa and Europe had their seventh, according to the release.

"July 2016 was 1.57 degrees F above the 20th-century average, breaking last year’s record for the warmest July by 0.11 degrees F," the release said.

If the warming trend continues until the end of 2016, this year will become the hottest year in modern history, according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
