MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Menai Science Park, located on the island of Anglesey off the north-west coast of Wales, received the funds as part of a project to encourage research collaboration, the BBC broadcaster reported.
The project, also focusing on low carbon emission technologies, would "support job creation, helping secure a sustainable future for Anglesey," Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones was cited by the media as saying.
The construction is set to begin in 2016, with the first businesses expected to move in beginning early 2018, the media reported.
Local authorities hope the project, led by the Bangor University, will encourage hi-tech businesses and scientific researchers to base themselves in northwestern Wales, according to the media.
