“Search and rescue operations continue. As of now, according to official figures, eight people have been killed, three more are been searched for,” Narmania told journalists.
Tbilisi’s electricity distribution company has said in a statement that the flooding led to power supply being cut off to around 22,000 of its customers in the capital.
Authorities set up an emergency operations headquarters to deal with the aftermath of the flooding.
