Five Dead, Over 100 Injured in Turkey Amid Heavy Storm

Five people reportedly died in a heavy storm, which raged across Turkey.

ANKARA, February 2 (Sputnik) – A heavy storm has raged across Turkey, leading to the deaths of five people, the Anadolu news agency reports.

Three people were killed and 110 others were injured in the Bursa province, Anadolu said Sunday, citing the governor's office.

The other two people were killed by collapsing roofs in the Balikesir and Canakkale provinces.

Anadolu also reported that over 300 rooftops and 100 cars were damaged on Sunday as a result of strong winds caused by the storm. In Istanbul, sea bus services, fast ferry and car ferry services were cancelled, the agency said.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines announced on its website that it has cancelled over 100 domestic and international flights from Istanbul Ataturk and Sabiha Gokcen airports amid heavy rain and thunderstorms.
