18:40 GMT 28.11.2017 (Updated: 11:56 GMT 06.08.2022) A US Navy P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance plane conducting a surveillance flight over the Black Sea near Russia's border was intercepted by a Russian Su-30 fighter aircraft, prompting the Pentagon to declare the encounter as "unsafe."
Commenting on the Pentagon's complaints about US surveillance aircraft being intercepted by a Russian jet over the Black Sea, Vladimir Kozin, a professor at the Russian Academy of Military Sciences, suggested that the United States refrain from raising "noise" and stop "its provocative flights instead."
