14:18 GMT 02.05.2017 (Updated: 11:40 GMT 06.08.2022) An FBI employee with security clearance went to Syria and married a Daesh terrorist who was the target of her investigation, US media reported this week.
In 2014, Daniela Greene eloped to Syria under false pretenses, marrying Denis Cuspert, a German national and an infamous Daesh propagandist. Greene then got cold feet and went back to the US, where she was arrested immediately. She served two years in prison on charges of "violating the public trust" and "endangering national security."
