Admitting you were wrong comes as reckoning after dinner: Geir Lundestad, former director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute voiced his regrets about the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to US President Barack Obama.

Lundestad's regrets can be easily understood: Obama’s legacy will definitely be controversial. Creating and instigating wars and havoc in the Middle East and damaging diplomatic relations are not qualities of a Peace Prize laureate.

"In his Nobel speech in 2009, Obama specifically addressed this issue. I mean how could he, who was indeed conducting two wars — in Afghanistan and Iraq — receive the Nobel Peace Prize? How could he justify this?" Lundestad told Sputnik.
