    Russian Gas Costs EU Consumers 33% Less Via Nord Stream Than Ukraine

    The Russian energy minister explained the advantages of the Nord Stream pipeline for European customers.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — European consumers of Russian gas save on average 33 percent more from deliveries via the Nord Stream pipeline than via Ukraine, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday.

    "Gas supplies via the Nord Stream route that was built a few years ago is currently around 1.5 times cheaper to European consumers than transportation via the Ukrainian gas transportation system," Novak told Rossiya-24.
