WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United State has modified sanctions against Russia’s Rosoboronexport and its subsidiaries to allow the purchase of spare parts and related services needed to sustain electro-optical sensors used to verify Moscow’s compliance with an open skies agreement, the US Department of State said on Wednesday.
"The United States Government has decided to modify the measures…against ROE [Rosoboronexport] and any successor, sub-unit, or subsidiary," the Department of State said in a document prepared for publication in the Federal Register.
The State Department underscored that the modification does not apply to any other measures imposed against the corporation.
Rosoboronexport is responsible for over 85 percent of Russian arms and military technology export.
The United States introduced sanctions against the company in September 2015.
