"Of course, as representatives of foreign, French business, we hope that the new minister would be more active in cooperation with foreign investors in line of the development of public and private partnership," Pavel Chinsky told RIA Novosti.
Chinsky said that direct contacts with officials were very important for investors and expressed hope that Oreshkin would treat both Russian and foreign businesspeople working in Russia as equal.
On November 15, Russia's Investigative Committee said that former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev was caught in the act of taking a $2-million bribe for a positive appraisal that allowed Russian energy company Rosneft to buy the state's shares of Bashneft oil company. Despite the fact that the ex-minister has not admitted his guilt Putin has dismissed Ulyukayev from his post citing lack of confidence.
