    Norway Expresses Readiness to Discuss Trade, Economy Partnership With Russia

    Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Monica Maeland stressed at the meeting with Russia's Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergei Donskoi, Oslo's willingness to resume trade and economic cooperation with Russia, the Norwegian government said Monday in a statement.

    STOCKHOLM (Sputnik) — According to the Norway's government, Donskoi's ministry is part of the Russian-Norwegian intergovernmental observation committee on the economic partnership, which ceased its work in May 2014. Donskoi offered to Maeland to hold the next meeting of the committee in May 2017 in Moscow.

    "The meeting with Minister Donskoi was constructive and positive. We have a positive attitude regarding the resumption of the political dialogue on the issues of the partnership with Russia on trade and economy, which has already been done by some EU countries," the statement said.
