Russia’s gas giant Gazprom has beat its record for daily natural gas exports, bringing 601.2 million cubic meters of gas to countries outside the post-Soviet bloc, the firm said in a statement on Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The company’s exports surpassed the landmark of 600 million cubic meters of gas a day on Friday, setting a new record for the eighth time this fall.

Alexander Medvedev, deputy chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, said the company expected to maintain "a high level" of exports to countries other than the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) until the end of this year.

    Gazprom’s non-CIS exports saw a 10-percent increase year-on-year in January-October 2016, surging by 13.05 billion cubic meters from last year’s 130.8 billion.
