PRAGUE (Sputnik) – Russia's Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation has submitted a package of materials to take part in the possible construction of a new nuclear power plant unit in the Czech Republic, an official with Rosatom's subsidiary said Tuesday.
"Rosatom transferred an information package to the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and the CEZ company with materials in response to the Czech request for the potential participation in the construction project of new nuclear power plant units in the Czech Republic," a Rusatom Overseas spokesperson told reporters.
The Russian company has thus informed the Czech authorities of its principled interests in taking part in the project, the spokesperson added.
