    Former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder will chair the Nord Stream 2 AG natural gas pipeline project company's board of directors, the German press reported Wednesday.

    BERLIN (Sputnik) — The company's representative confirmed Schroeder's appointment, the Tagesspiegel daily said, citing the information it has obtained.

    The former chancellor has served as chairman of the company's shareholders committee for 10 years.
