KIEV (Sputnik) — Russian energy giant Gazprom is offering Ukraine somewhat lower gas prices than European suppliers for the third quarter, the head of the Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz said Thursday.
"The price offered by Gazprom is somewhat lower as of today than the one offered by European suppliers, thought he market is very volatile and the price on the European market has started to lower," Andriy Kobolyev told reporters.
Gas supplies from Europe are sufficient to provide Ukraine with reserves for the winter season, CEO of Ukraine's energy company Naftogaz Andriy Kobolyev said on Thursday.
"As for reserves, gas inventories and operation through the coming winter, European supplies are quite sufficient," Kobolyev said at a press conference.
He added that the gas deliveries to be negotiated with Russian energy giant Gazprom were purely a commercial matter.
