"We are doing everything to create conditions for further investments, especially," Putin said during a meeting with French businessmen.

The Russian president noted that despite all the difficulties, there has been a growth of mutual investments between the two countries.

"French investments in the Russian economy have been developing at faster pace. French companies have invested more than 1 billion euros [almost $1,2 billion]. This is partially due to a desire to preserve presence in our market, including in the field of agriculture: several hundreds of millions have been invested in the production of cheese in Russia," Putin said.
