MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The secretary general of the influential OPEC club of the world’s largest oil exporters was invited to the forum together with Saudi Oil Minister Ali Naimi, Russia’s deputy energy chief Kirill Molodtsov said earlier.

"Badri has no plans yet of going to the Moscow event in April," the source said.

The 3rd National Oil and Gas Forum will take place on 19-21 April, 2016. The Russian government has touted it as one of the central discussion platforms in the energy sector this year.

Venezuela's Oil Minister Eulogio del Pino has confirmed he will be joining Russian officials and executives of energy firms for the forum in Moscow in the wake of the Doha meeting of oil producers, which is expected to discuss the output freeze on April 17.
