TEHRAN (Sputnik) Major oil producers will most likely meet to talk over oil production freeze in April, the final date of the meeting will be coordinated in the near future, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Monday.

"Different dates, as I have stated earlier, are currently being discussed. Most likely, this meeting will take place in April. However, I think we will be able to coordinate the specific date in next few days," Novak told reporters following talks with Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh.

The meeting’s venue is also being discussed, the Russian energy minister noted.

"Such consultations, negotiations within OPEC are held by the OPEC member states, basically, it is Qatar, who currently chairs OPEC. Doha is also considered as an option for the meeting," Novak stressed.
