YEREVAN (Sputnik) — Armenia joined the economic union in January 2015.
"We expect that there will be a positive effect. There can be no negative impact. Armenian membership of EEU has no relation to the reduction of investment [in the country]," Vahagn Lalayan told the Armenian Tert.am news portal in an interview.
Lalayan stressed that the EEU was facilitating the development of the country's investment and business climate.
The EEU, comprising Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, is an international organization that encourages regional economic integration through the free movement of goods, services, and people within the union.
