L1 Energy Executive Chairman Lord Browne said that the company is interested in the US oil market, which has huge potential and will become more significant in the future, which is not a top priority of the company.

HOUSTON (Sputnik) — Oil company L1 Energy owned by Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman is interested in the US oil market, which has huge potential and will become more significant in the future, which is not a top priority of the company, L1 Energy Executive Chairman Lord Browne told Sputnik.

"The United States has some very significant oil reservoirs here, which will be very important for the future, and many people in the oil industry will be involved there. We may be [or] may not be, it all depends on what’s available," Lord Browne said on Tuesday, when asked about the company’s top interest regions.

Lord Browne also said that L1 Energy is currently evaluating the Iranian oil market, although it is not one of the company's top priorities.

“Everyone is looking at Iran, whether we’ll do anything other than looking remains to be seen. I think it is not something on the top of our priorities,” Browne said on Tuesday.
