Iranian upstream oil sector seeks to enhance its international presence and is ready to participate in the realization of drilling projects in the Middle East, the country's deputy oil minister, Mohammad Reza Moqaddam, said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the official, quoted by the local IRNA new agency, Iran is able “to export technical and engineering services to regional countries in drilling oil and gas fields” since the lifting of sanctions opens a new chapter for the oil industry.

The United Nations, the European Union and partially the United States lifted their sanctions against the Islamic Republic after the International Atomic Energy Agency verified late on Saturday Tehran’s compliance with a nuclear agreement reached last July. The lifting of sanctions allows Iranian oil companies to re-enter the international market.
