Australian Company Accused of 'Selling Out' for Launching Tours of Crimea
Ukraine has threatened to punish Israeli citizens and commercial entities which are engaged in business activities in Crimea that haven't been authorized by Kiev.

Following the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014, Israel elected to maintain a neutral stance and so far has refused to participate in the anti-Russian sanctions campaign championed by Washington and Brussels.

Meanwhile, Kiev continues to insist that Crimea belongs to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian embassy in Tel Aviv said they received information about Israeli citizens visiting Crimea 'in violation of Ukrainian laws' and engaging in commercial activity there 'without authorization from the Ukrainian government,' RIA Novosti reports.

"If these activities do not cease, all relevant information will be forwarded to the Ukrainian authorities in order to bring those lawbreakers to justice," a statement issued by the embassy said, according to the news agency.

The embassy also threatened the 'offending' Israeli companies with some unspecified sanctions.

The Crimean Peninsula rejoined Russia in 2014 following a referendum in which 96 percent of the region’s predominantly ethnic Russian population voted in favor of reunification. Crimean residents made their decision after the Maidan protests culminated in the overthrow of the elected government of Ukraine in February 2014.
