Athens is going to suggest a new deal during the Eurogroup meeting on Wednesday.

ATHENS (Sputnik) — Athens will present an entire agreement rather than separate proposals during Wednesday’s Eurogroup meeting, a source in Greece’s finance ministry said Tuesday.

“The Greek delegation has left not with new proposals but with a finished agreement, which includes proposals. This is not a question of proposals, we have a new deal. A ready new deal,” the source told RIA Novosti.

According to the source, the text of the agreement will be discussed with Greece's creditors and may be changed.

The source refuted previous reports that Athens has no new proposals to offer.

Earlier in the day, the Eurogroup's meeting was held in Brussels to discuss Athens' debt and ways to settle the financial crisis. The Eurozone emergency summit on the Greek issue also began in Brussels.

The extraordinary sessions followed a Greek referendum on austerity measures demanded by the country’s major international creditors — the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and some Eurozone nations.

Greece had refused to accept the deeply unpopular terms offered by its lenders on a new bailout program before the previous aid package expired on June 30, triggering speculation that the state might leave the Eurozone.
