First Deputy Duma Speaker Alexander Zhukov said that Russia’s lower house of parliament plans to ratify on Friday a large gas delivery deal with China that would deliver energy along the Eastern route pipeline beginning in 2019.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russia’s lower house of parliament, the State Duma, plans to ratify on Friday a large gas delivery deal with China that would deliver energy along the Eastern route pipeline beginning in 2019, First Deputy Duma Speaker Alexander Zhukov said Thursday.

“Among other important issues [for review by the State Duma on Friday], I would highlight the ratification of an agreement on delivering gas to China that was signed last year. This is a very large-scale document, deliveries of gas [to China] along the so-called Eastern route pipeline starting from 2019, according to the agreements,” Zhukov told journalists.
