The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism announced Wednesday that a number of Egyptian shops and companies are to start accepting payments in Russian rubles.
This unprecedented step was taken as Egypt attempts to increase the attractiveness of the country as a destination for Russian holidaymakers, and reverse recent declines in tourist numbers.
