MOSCOW, November 16 (Sputnik) — G20 will establish an Energy Efficiency Finance Task Group to further financial cooperation in the international arena, the action plan for the task group issued amid the G20 summit said.
"Participating countries will work with IPEEC [International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation] to create an Energy Efficiency Finance Task Group, supported by the OECD [Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development] and other relevant international organisations and initiatives (including the World Bank, the IEF [International Energy Forum], the Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative), to facilitate a high-level dialogue with representatives of the international finance community," the action plan read.
According to the release, France and Mexico will be responsible for the coordination of the establishment of the task group, which would potentially bring about new methods boosting energy efficiency investments through the flow of private and public capital.
Brisbane, Australia brought together this weekend world leaders and around 4,000 delegates for the ninth G20 summit. The two-day summit addressed a number of issues of global concern, the financial recovery being one of them.
