NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - A representative of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region will attend a U.S.-Russia Business Council meeting in New York on September 24-25, the regional administration said on Tuesday.
The Council’s 17th meeting will be attended by Vadim Ivanov, director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region department for international, foreign economic and interregional relations, the department said in a statement.
Ivanov will also hold business talks on the sidelines of the forum to strengthen the region’s foreign economic relations with U.S. businesses, the statement said.
Annual sessions of the U.S.-Russia Business Council are a major event within the framework of bilateral cooperation traditionally attended by government officials from both countries, and also the leaders of Russian and U.S. business circles and international sectoral experts.
The Council’s 17th will focus on cooperation with regions, the statement said.
“Vadim Ivanov considers it important for a delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod Region as a leading and one of the most economically developed regions in Russia to attend the event,” the statement said.
Ivanov will deliver a report at the workshop, “Russian Regions - the Levels of Development and Available Opportunities,” the statement said.
