MOSCOW, April 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot [RTS: AFLT] said Tuesday its net profit, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS), rose 32.3%, year-on-year, in 2006, to 7.98 billion rubles (about $306.9 million).
The airline, which accounts for 39% of Russia's international air traffic and 11% of domestic flights, attributed its net profit increase to the 17.4% growth in passenger carriage in 2006.
Aeroflot carried 7.29 million passengers in 2006 or 8.7% more than in 2005, the company said.
