Russian monetary base up $18 mln in week

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.

MOSCOW, March 31 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank announced Friday that the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1) was 2,201 billion rubles ($79.3 billion at the current exchange rate) as of March 27, up 500 million rubles ($18 million) in the week since March 20.

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.
