IRKUTSK, December 26 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Batalin) - Russia plans to double its oil supplies to China in 2006 via the Trans-Siberian Railroad, a Russian railway official said Monday.

"This year, Russia supplied more than 7 million metric tons of crude oil from its oil terminals, or 35% more compared to last year. In 2006, oil supplies are expected to grow to 15 million metric tons," said Alexei Vorotilkin, the head of the East-Siberian branch of the Russian Railways Company.

The program, which is being implemented to expand the capacity of the Trans-Siberian Railroad, stipulates measures to build and equip additional rail links and develop the infrastructure of railway stations.
