MOSCOW, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Transportation Ministry is hoping to establish a single headquarters to coordinate all air transport in the country, a ministry official said Tuesday.
Karl Ruppel, the director of the Civil Aviation State Policy Department, said at an aviation forum in Moscow that this was one of the most important directions of Russian aviation development.
The ministry is ready to consider businessmen's proposals to develop civil aviation, Ruppel said.
Ruppel said a legal system of relations between business and the state should be established to create a competitive environment in the sector.
He said removal of administrative barriers was another move called upon to increase Russian air transport competitiveness.
"We are watching the authorities' efforts in this direction, but they are still not sufficient," he said.
