IRKUTSK, July 22 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Batalin) - Traffic has been restricted on Russia's Trans-Siberian railroad after heavy rains in the Irkutsk Region (eastern Siberia) washed out one of its sections, the local railroad's press service said.
Currently all trains are moving along the railroad's second track at a reduced speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
Restoration work is underway, and service will be fully restored soon, the press service said.
The Trans-Siberian is the world's largest railroad, measuring 9,300 kilometers in length and running all the way across Russia from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific Ocean.
