DUBAI, May 3 (RIA Novosti's Yuri Zinin) - A hundred and twenty companies from twenty-one countries, including Russia, are taking part in the Middle East Police and Law-Enforcement Exhibit (MEPLEX) currently underway in Dubai's Police Academy.

This is the first time Russia has contributed to this exhibition, Deputy Interior Minister Mikhail Ignatyev, who heads the Russian delegation to the exhibit, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Russia's stand showcases some of domestic companies' latest police and security developments, including weaponry, forensic equipment, optical devices, and personnel protection gear.

According to Ignatyev, law-enforcement agencies of both Russia and the United Arab Emirates are interested in bilateral cooperation being stepped up.

The exhibition, held for a second time this year, will run through May 5.
