As the spokesman of the "Rosoboronexport" Federal State Unitary Enterprize told RIA Novosti, Russia, among other things, presents modernization programs for T-55, T-62, T-72 and PT-76 tanks. "They are cost effective and quite attractive for foreign users".
"The range of track-type vehicles will be represented by T-80 and T-90S main battle tanks that we suggest to the countries of the Asian-Pacific region, and BMP-3 all-purpose armoured personnel carrier, which surpasses foreign analogues as regards the aggregate of firepower, mobility and protection" - RIA Novosti's interlocutor said.
According to him, the Russian exposition will display the whole range of artillery export models, missile artillery equipment of small, medium and large caliber, and anti-tank missile complexes.
"The "Smerch" multiple rocket launcher mounted on the Czech-made Tatra wheeled cross-country vehicle will be displayed for the first time in this department. We will also present the "Iskander-3" mobile missile launcher and the modernized "Grad" multiple rocket launcher" - "Rosoboronexport" spokesman pointed out.
Small and medium surface ships will occupy a central place in the exhibition's naval department, he said.
According to RIA Novosti's interlocutor, naval equipment models presented by Russia at "DSA-2004" will include "Corsair" frigates, "Mangust", "Mirage" and "Mercury" fast patrol boats, "Svetlyak" patrol boats, "Molniya" missile torpedo boats, "Chilim", "Murena" and "Zubr" hovercraft.
"They often surpass best foreign models as regards combat efficiency, seaworthiness and reliability. Combat ships can be adapted to many foreign-made weapons systems as well, which makes them even more attractive for foreign customers" - "Rosoboronexport" spokesman emphasized.
He also mentioned the exposition of highly effective small arms and ammunition: AK-101, AK-102, AK-103 and AK-104 5.56 and 7.62-millimetre improved Kalashnikov automatic rifles, "Bison" 9-millimetre submachine gun, VSS sniper rifle, AS 9-millimetre special automatic rifle, SR-2 9-millimetre submachine gun, SR-3 "Vykhr" small-size submachine-gun, special cartridges, night and day small-arms optical sights, portable and anti-tank rocket launchers, rockets, grenades and cartridges of various purposes and destructive effects.
