KAZAKHSTAN WILLING TO INVEST INTO CES MARKETS

MOSCOW, April 5, 2004 - RIA Novosti. Kazakhstan is interested in investment markets within the framework of the common economic space (CES), Kasymzhomart Tokayev, foreign minister of Kazakhstan, told reporters at a press conference in Moscow.

"We are vitally interested in the common market, As a result of the reforms the Kazakh economy becomes "overheated, it needs markets, in particular for investments," he said.

The minister recalled that within the framework of the common economic space a model of multi-tier and multi-speed integration was approved. "Kazakhstan and Russia have proved to be prepared to integration better than other countries. They have the economy of the same type and a close level of development," Tokayev said.

He pointed out that after the ratification of the basic documents on creation of the common economic space, the community's normative base is to be created. According to preliminary estimates, the framework, system-forming acts will include 123 documents.

The single economic space is made up of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.
