MOSCOW, MARCH 31. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Russia may win the right to build the third and fourth units of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China, Alexander Rumyantsev, head of the Federal Nuclear Energy Agency, told journalists at the news conference on Wednesday.

"As to the third and fourth units of the Tianwan nuclear power station, I hope that the Chinese side will opt for us. Everything will depend on how the units we are now building in China will be started", Rumyantsev said.

He recalled that Russia is now building two units of the Tianwan facility. The first unit will be started in May. "The first Tianwan unit is now being run in", Rumyantsev said.

The second unit, which the Russian side is building, will be started up in 2005. "Building of the Tianwan nuclear power plant is going on well. I've never seen such an excellent construction site", Rumyantsev said.
