Addressing the participants in the Day of the Russian Economy, the German Secretary of State said that "Russia's example shows to Germany and other European countries the importance of a balanced budget and of conducting a tough and consistent tax policy." He expressed confidence that "Russia will continue to successfully develop its production." "Russia is Germany's main economic partner," Alfred Tacke pointed out and underscored that Germany closely cooperates with Russia on such important problems for Europe as energy and relations with the European Union.
"Germany views itself as Russia's partner in Europe, an inalienable part of which is the Russian Federation," emphasised Alfred Tacke.
"Our cooperation with Russia can be described as a global partnership for a long perspective," the Secretary of State said.
The Day of the Russian Economy has been held today for the fourth time. Its organisers are the Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, the Dresden Bank, the German Securities Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The co-organisers of this event from the Russian side are the Ministry of the Economy and Development.
