NEW YORK, March 20, 2004. (RIA Novosti). American firms are interested in the implementation of the New Ring project, which implies the construction of 60 skyscrapers in the Russian capital, First Vice Mayor in the Moscow government Vladimir Resin told a press conference in New York on Friday.

According to Resin, his talks on skyscrapers' designing and building with well-known builder Martin Zukerman, architects Frank Williams and Jeffrey McCartey, Citybank heads and the New York City Hall were productive.

"America has the best technologies of skyscrapers' building. We hope for mutually beneficial partnership and expect to build these 6 million square meters with the help if US experts and managers," Mr. Resin said.

In his words, one of the buildings of the New Ring project, an apartment building in Moscow's Davydkovo district, was already erected. Other four buildings are under construction. However, we are not experienced enough to construct buildings with more than 35 stories, he noted.

Fears that Moscow's soil allegedly would not let construction of 50-storied buildings are groundless, he said.

"The designing and construction of 50-storied buildings will take 2.5-3 years," Mr. Resin added.
