According to the Audit Chamber's information and public relations department, this decision was taken Friday at a session of the Chamber's board.

"While implementing the programme, it is planned to check the procedure for the issuance of valuables from Gokhran and their sale, the completeness and timeliness of settling accounts with the buyers and transferring receipts from the sale of valuables to the finance ministry's accounts", the Chamber's press-release reads.

Under the Audit Chamber's programme, it is also planned to check whether the funds thus gained were used in keeping with the established procedure in the 1999-2002 period.

"The audit will be completed in December 2004," the press-release says.
