MOSCOW, March 5, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - The government intends to take under control all agricultural problems in the country, new Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov announced, when speaking at the State Duma session on Friday.

According to him, the government will conduct a protectionist policy in this respect, including support to agricultural equipment leasing and grain interventions.

"The government's attention to the agricultural issues will be as serious as it can be, and yesterday we discussed it with acting agriculture minister Alexei Gordeyev," Fradkov added.
