RUSSIA TO MAKE ANOTHER IMF PAYMENT TODAY

MOSCOW, March 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The Russian finance ministry will make another payment to settle its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday.

According to the finance ministry, the payment will account for $61,022,700.

The payment will be effected in strict compliance with the schedule, stressed sources in the ministry.

This will be the first in a series of payments on this category of the debt due in March. In all, three payments will be made this month on the IMF debt.

In 2004, Russia is to pay about $1.7 billion to the Fund.
