MOSCOW, MARCH 4. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- In September the Russian cabinet will consider the business plan of the project for railing oil to China.

This was said at the Thursday sitting of the board of the OAO Russian Railways company (RZD), its press service said.

Preliminary estimate for the use of railways to carry oil to China will be ready by April 15. By September the business plan will be considered by the RZD board of directors and the cabinet of ministers, said the press service.

"In Khabarovsk on February 26 RZD head Gennadi Fadeev proposed to arrange the transportation of oil (including to China) by rail particularly along the Baikal-Amur trunk line", the company recalled.

Now about five to six million tonnes of oil is annually carried towards China via the Zabaikalsk station on the border. The volume of carriage will increase, said the press service.

The RZD investment programme provides for funding the preparatory electrification work of the Chita-Zabaikalsk route, to be ready in 2007.

The RZD company plans to improve the track complex on the route and lay side track in some places. Parallel work will be done during three years.

"Already today Russian railways have the required infrastructure for the transportation of 30 million tonnes of oil annually", said the RZD press service.
