MOSCOW, MARCH 2 (RIA NOVOSTI) -There will be no trade war with the European Union, declared Russian acting Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref.

The rumors about the trade war and the most difficult period in relations with the EU have been exaggerated, he told journalists.

Negotiations are being held currently with the EU, connected with Russia's possible losses from the EU expansion, which may reach $150 million, Mr. Gref pointed out.

"A positive dialogue is now being held with the EU on all the 10 points of the trade and economic agenda," Mr. Gref said. They include the quotas on the agricultural produce, steel and uranium deliveries, he pointed out and added that common approaches have been found to all points.

According to the minister, last week the Russian delegation met with the EU trade mission, and several telephone conversations were conducted with EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy. The latest negotiations were held with the participation of Mikhail Fradkov, Mr. Gref reported.

"We stated that we are at the stage of solving problems. There is a possibility not to lose a single dollar and complete negotiations by May 1," he concluded.
