    RUSSIA'S TRADE WITH FOREIGN STATES REACHED $192 BLN LAST YEAR

    MOSCOW, March 1 (RIA Novosti) - In 2003, Russia's trade with foreign states reached $192 bln, 25% more ($78 bln) than in 2002 and a record-high figure for the past 12 years, Vladimir Putin reported at the Monday session of the Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States.

    The president stressed that the system of military-technical cooperation was developing dynamically, with plans overfulfilled by 26% and the overall volume of exported weapons and hardware reaching $5.5 bln.

    Technical imports to Russia grew by 28-30% last year, while machinery and technical exports from Russia went up by 11%, with military-technical cooperation accounting for 50% of this increment.
