MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 27 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT POLINA KALABUKHOVA) - The committee for intra-CIS economic-integration issues of Russia's chamber of commerce and industry held its session February 26, charting long-term and strategic measures, as well as short-term measures for the first six months of 2004.

Talking to RIA Novosti, officials at the Russian Foreign Ministry's information-and-press department noted that the action plan was unveiled by committee chairman Fedor Stanevsky, who emphasized the need for clarifying specific issues, due to be tackled by the revamped committee.

Those, who attended the session, believe that the committee must expand its cooperation with other committees of the commerce-and-industry chamber, legislative-branch and executive-branch agencies, as well as R&D organizations, Foreign Ministry people added.

Moreover, the mass media must cover the committee's work, as well as problems facing CIS businessmen; this is perceived as a rather important aspect.
