RUSSIA EXPORTED ALMOST 15 BILLION CU M OF GAS IN JANUARY

MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russian exports of gas in January 2004 grew by 11.3% in comparison with the same period of 2003 and totaled 14.92 billion cubic meters, says a press release of Gazexport, who is a 100% export sale branch of Gazprom.

Gas exportation to countries outside the former USSR totaled 14.46 billion cubic meters against 13.3 billion in January 2003.

In particular, 10.17 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to Western Europe against 9.2 billion for the same period the previous year. 4.29 billion cubic meters of gas against 4.1 billion were delivered to Eastern Europe.

0.46 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to CIS countries, which is 4.7 times higher than the January 2003 indicator.
